BREAKING: One Injured, Suspects Sought After Shooting at Clarksville Speedway Fairgrounds
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — May 31, 2025 A community event turned into a crime scene Saturday night as gunfire erupted at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds, leaving one person injured and prompting a manhunt for multiple suspects, according to the Clarksville Police Department (CPD).
The incident occurred around 9:10 p.m., when off-duty officers working security at the fairgrounds reported hearing shots fired from the parking lot near the main entrance. Additional officers quickly responded and discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was transported to Tennova Healthcare, where his condition remains unknown as of Sunday morning. Authorities have not yet released his identity.
Witnesses Describe Chaos as Suspects Flee
Witnesses at the scene told police they saw five to six Black males running from the area in the direction of Hazelwood Road immediately after the shooting. CPD believes this was an isolated incident, but investigators are working to determine a motive and whether the shooting was targeted.
